As IEC (Importer- Exporter Code) is a mandatory license for doing Export/Import. IEC license is issued by DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) of India. IEC is allotted on PAN number of the individual , firms, companies.
Application for IEC is made very easy and it can be applied through DGFT portal by following below steps :
i) Go to website of DGFT i.e. https://www.dgft.gov.in
ii) Under services tab go to IEC Profile Management.
iii) Then click on Apply for IEC
iv) There are two options, one is Login which is for existing users and Register for new users. Register as a new user. Fill up all the details, OTP will be sent on Mobile and in email. Verify with OTP.
v) Fill up application form with all details, also add if you have other branches.
vi) Fill up Director/ Partner etc details as required in the form.
vii) Upload all documents as required in the form.
viii) Process free payment by given options like net banking/ debit card/ credit card.
ix) Check the preview and take a print out.
x) Submit finally.
You can check your IEC status on the portal of DGFT.
